The Osprey nest is on a specially constructed platform 25 feet above the water. Previously the Osprey nested on a sawdust collector at the Barbee Lumber Mill. When that was removed, this platform was built nearby, so the birds would have a place to return to after their annual winter in Mexico. The video camera is in a waterproof housing on an arm about 10 feet away from the nest. A cable runs down the pole from the nest and then underwater to shore where it is connected to a computer that encodes the streaming video.
